Jacqui Dziak

A need to decompress after a long day at work, and an even longer commute, is how Jacqui Dziak first became involved with Pasadena Humane. Before heading home that day, she stopped by the shelter to visit the dogs and one in particular brightened her mood immediately. Soon after, the longtime Pasadena resident became a volunteer and adopter-first bringing home a rabbit, named Sam Jackson, and then a kitten (now cat), named Ricky.

Since she became a volunteer, Jacqui has spent almost all of her time at our Flora L. Thornton Foundation Critter House, where she works with the rabbits in our care. However, the longer she has been at the shelter, the more she has come to appreciate what Pasadena Humane does for all animals. And that inspired her to include us in her estate plan.

"I appreciate all the work Pasadena Humane does for animals in need, and for our community. The organization leads with heart and has a special place in my heart, and I want to do my part to ensure that the good work continues" she explains. "As my volunteer roles continue to evolve, and I have the privilege of being exposed to many of its departments, I trust that Pasadena Humane will use the gift for whatever is needed the most.

She advises others to trust in Pasadena Humane as she does and consider including the shelter in their plans.

"Pasadena Humane has been a part of our community since 1903, and is one of, if not the most respected and outstanding shelters," she said. "If you love animals and are an animal advocate, support Pasadena Humane."
